Today we cruised the sounds of New Zealand’s South Island. When we got to Milford Sound in the morning it was to rough to enter the passage so the captain decided to continue south to Doubtful sound, cruise that and then return to Milford sound hoping the seas had improved. Turned out to be a great decision and we got to see both sounds.
Doubtful sound will be the furthest south we will be on the cruise and it was cold!
Both sounds are beautiful and many people said they looked like Norway, but with way less human presence.
We enjoyed it very much and I loved seeing the albatross.
Next stop Tasmania!
Looking at the pictures of the albatross reminded me of the book Jonathan Livingston Seagull. Have your read that book? I return from it from time to time – each time a little unsure if it is a child’s book about a bird and heaven or a deep book about philosophy and self discovery.
Anyhow … that is what those pictures made me think of. I guess it is time to read it again.
Here is to hoping you both are flying as high and as fast as you desire.
